James in Turkey: January 2005

Follow this in other places

I lived in Turkey for fifteen years and have written about it for nearly half that time. This is an important country with plenty going on: football diplomacy, headscarves, restless minorities, anger at Israel and restrictions on speech freedoms - even for former dictators.

This is where I write about these and other things. I now live away from Turkey, but still work for it - for its national broadcaster, to be exact - and visit rather often, so it should be with some degree of credibility.
